Candidates aspiring for forester, forest guard, and livestock inspector jobs under the Odisha Sub-ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) protested the delay in scheduling their physical assessments on Tuesday.

According to sources, despite notifications for the exams being released as early as 2023, candidates successfully completed their main written examinations last year but are yet to receive a schedule for the physical tests.

This prolonged uncertainty has left many aspirants frustrated, prompting them to voice their concerns publicly, calling on the OSSSC to provide clarity and set the dates for these crucial assessments.

“Our physical test was earlier scheduled to be held in October last year. More than three months have passed in the meantime. We have been regularly practising but it would be difficult to appear for the test in summer,” an agitating aspirant said to OTV.

“We have some other examinations to appear in the near future and have to prepare for them. How long we would wait for this?” the agitating youth questioned.

“We had appeared in the exam for recruitment to forest guard posts. There has been an unusual delay in conducting the physical test,” another job aspirant expressed.

Worth mentioning, massive corruption charges were earlier brought against the OSSSC in connection with the recruitment for various Group-C posts in the State. Putting a question mark over the results of written examinations for the recruitment of different posts, several candidates had alleged that government jobs are being sold in Odisha.

The candidates had questioned how some students, who performed miserably in the PEO examinations, managed to be included in the merit list of the Combined Examination Group-C results.
