According to sources, a case of alleged misconduct emerged from the Central government-run health facility, where a female attendant has accused a staff member of inappropriate behavior.

The accused called the woman into his chamber and misbehaved with her, the complaint filed at Khandagiri Police Station stated.

The female staffer has provided a written complaint, urging authorities to take swift action. Following the incident, a group of staff and supporters staged a sit-in protest in front of AIIMS’s main gate, demanding justice and institutional accountability.

The protest has drawn attention to internal workplace safety and the need for transparent inquiry mechanisms in healthcare institutions. Khandagiri police confirmed receipt of the complaint and stated that an investigation is underway.

AIIMS Bhubaneswar has yet to release an official statement regarding the matter.

However, insiders suggest that internal disciplinary procedures may be initiated pending the outcome of the police probe.

“The nursing officer has misbehaved with me, and I want justice. He called me to the doctors’ room last night and dragged me and misbehaved with me. He held my hands tightly and inappropriately touched me,” the victim nursing staff alleged.

“To save myself, I pushed him hard and fled from the spot. I have informed the hospital authorities, but no action has been taken yet,” the victim said to OTV.

“The accused is absconding, and police told me that he will be nabbed. When would the police nab him?” the nursing staff questioned when contacted.

No comments were received from the authorities concerned or the local police in this regard.
