A shocking incident has come to light at Krushnapur village under Telkoi police station in Keonjhar district, where two friends allegedly beat another friend to death in an inebriated state after a minor altercation.
The deceased has been identified as Bishwanath Juang, son of Shyam Juang of Baidnali ward in Krushnapur village.
As per reports, Bishwanath had gone to a nearby village on the evening of Rakhi Purnima, but never returned home. When he did not come back, his family members began searching for him the next day. They eventually found his body lying in the Shuakata forest near the village and immediately informed Telkoi police.
Police reached the spot, initiated an investigation, and detained two suspects — Shambhu Juang, son of Kalia Juang from Kaunsinali ward, and Bijay Munda, son of Talu Munda from Baidnali ward.

During interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed that they had consumed alcohol together. Subsequently, a quarrel broke out and in the ensuing fight, Bishwanath was beaten to death.
A scientific team visited the crime scene today for examination, after which the body was sent for post-mortem.
