In a one-of-a-kind and disturbing incident, two DJ-equipped trucks deliberately collided with one another while participating in parallel processions in Berhampur. The incident left both vehicles damaged and posed a serious threat to people nearby.
According to sources, two separate Ganesh immersion processions were taking place in different parts of the Phulta village under the Nimakhandi police station limits of Berhampur.
Each procession included a truck carrying a DJ setup to amplify music and attract crowds. At one point, the two trucks came face-to-face, prompting a contest of strength as drivers attempted to assert dominance.
DJ Trucks Face-Off
The confrontation escalated as the vehicles repeatedly nudged and collided with each other. During these clashes, the DJ systems and lighting on both trucks sustained damage. Onlookers, many standing near the vehicles, were put at risk as the trucks continued to jostle for position.
Residents and spectators recorded the incident on mobile phones, with hundreds reportedly observing the dangerous spectacle. Witnesses described the collisions as unnerving, noting that repeated impacts caused sparks and equipment damage, creating a tense atmosphere around the immersion site.
Authorities noted that, while the event attracted large crowds, the confrontations were unsanctioned and unsafe. No injuries were reported, but the potential for harm was significant given the size and power of the vehicles involved.
Police Oversight And Public Safety Concerns
The local police station confirmed that officers were present in the area during the processions but were unable to control the situation owing to the large crowd that had gathered at the scene.
However, authorities stated that the report of the event has been documented, and further monitoring will be conducted during the remaining Ganesh immersion activities in the district. Police also added that a search is on for the operators of the vehicle, and appropriate action will be taken.
