While hearing a dispute pertaining to the dental surgeon recruitment exam, the Orissa High Court directed the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) Chairman to appear in person before the court next Monday.

The High Court came down heavily on OPSC for failing to submit the merit list in the Dental Surgeon recruitment case despite repeated directives.

As per reports, an advertisement for the recruitment of 198 dental surgeons was published by OPSC in 2017-18. After the recruitment process, a merit list was published and as many as 171 applicants were given appointments.

However, as per the system of OPSC recruitment, answer sheets were later published and the applicants found that as many as 15 questions that appeared in the examination were wrong. They moved High Court over the matter.

Hearing the matter, the High Court had asked OPSC many times to submit the merit list. However, OPSC failed to produce the list before the Court. Expressing, dissatisfaction over the development, the High Court asked the Chairman of OPSC to appear in person. The next hearing of the case will be next Monday.
