A forest range officer has become the latest government employee to come under the vigilance scanner for allegedly accumulating assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The sleuths of the anti-corruption bureau on Wednesday conducted raids on the properties linked to Sangram Keshari Manihira, a forest range officer in Ujjalpur Forest Range in Sundargarh district.
Several teams of the vigilance wing comprising five DSPs, eight inspectors, two ASIs and other staff carried out simultaneous raids across five locations in Sambalpur, Bolangir and Sundargarh districts.
During the raids, the vigilance officials searched Manihira’s residential triple-storyed building located in Burla Town Unit 1 in Sambalpur district, his house at native village Bahminipali in Bolangir and relative’s house at Nehru Nagar in Bolangir.
Similarly, the office chamber of Manihira and his government residential quarter located inside the campus of Forest Range Office, Ujalpur Forest Range in Sundargarh district were also searched.
The searches were underway till the filing of the last report.
