As per the reports, at least 41 Lakh people belonging to 11,637 villages under 131 blocks of 14 districts were affected due to the cyclonic storm.
Earlier in a press meet, Revenue & Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari had said, “The Process of the Central government’s grant, which is to be released in this regard, will follow the submission of a final cyclone damage assessment report. However, we are prepared that the State government will immediately start disbursement of the compensation amount in Odisha when the final report is complete.”
“Three districts have been majorly damaged including Balasore, Bhadrak, and Kendrapara. Balasore is worst affected and it is more due to floodwater rather than the cyclonic storm," the minister had added.
