The 2024 edition of the historic annual Bali Yatra fair in Cuttack will conclude today, on 23rd November. After nine days of festivities, extravaganza, and heavy footfall, the event will close its doors until the next year.
Notably, the 2024 Bali Yatra boasted several improvements over its previous editions. From increased food security, dust and waste management, and traffic arrangements to enhanced performances by Odissi artists as well as eminent faces like Sonu Nigam, the fair has witnessed several highs.

1) Drone show
A major crowd-puller this year is a mega drone show that takes place every evening at the Cuttack Bali Yatra. As soon as the skies turn dark, an army of drones assemble over the Mahanadi banks and form spectacular formations against the night sky.

One can witness it best from the Cuttack-in-Cuttack section of the fair located at the very end of the lower ground (tala padia), right beside the stage for cultural activities.
2) Infinity world
A unique and privately hosted stall in the lower ground of the Cuttack Bali Yatra, Infinity World features a large hall-like structure that aims to offer an immersive experience for viewers. Filled with decors like trees and mirror-like reflections, the attraction sparkles with lights installed at every corner of it.

An elegant display of colors welcomes visitors as they can stand and enjoy the light show. The attraction is present on the left side of the Cuttack-in-Cuttack entrance. However, it should be noted that this attraction has an entry price.
3) ORMAS exhibit
Set up by the Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS), this exhibit features multiple stalls selling antiquities, handlooms, and handicrafts from across Odisha and several other states.
Additionally, agri-horticulture products, authentic spices, and craft stalls by proud women artisans make for a must-visit spot for art and history lovers. Those interested in exploring Odisha’s rich and diverse handicrafts should definitely attend this exhibit in the Bali Yatra lower ground.
4) Cuttack-in-Cuttack
A sprawling attraction spread over several hundreds of meters, Cuttack-in-Cuttack is a prime attraction and resting spot for visitors of the annual fair. This spot is heavily decorated with lights, artistic pieces, and selfie spots.
However, this year the arena features a walking exhibit offering viewers a look through the history of Odia cinema. From the first Odia movie to some of its greatest icons, this spot is a one-stop-all for heritage lovers. One can walk straight from the main Bali Yatra entrance at the lower ground to reach this spot.
5) Joyrides
The experience of Cuttack Bali Yatra is incomplete without enjoying the many rides installed on the lower ground. From beautifully illuminated Ferris wheels to spin rides like break-dance, frisbee, and tora-tora, one must hop on one of their favorites and feel the thrill.

Moreover, trampolines, hand-driven merry-go-rounds, dragon-ride, and mini-jeep cars offer kids a much-needed life experience. One can find these rides scattered across the Bali Yatra fair.
