The District Collector surprised everyone during his visit to the tribal-dominated region by teaching at the local government-run school. As part of his field inspection in Khairaput block, Upadhyay had gone to Andrahal and Mudulipada villages.
At the Mudulipada SSD Girls’ High School, Upadhyay took classes for Class 7 and 8 students, teaching subjects like English and Sanskrit. The District Collector also engaged the students by asking them a wide variety of academic questions, checking their comprehension and encouraging interactive learning.
The initiative was well-received by students and staff, who felt motivated by the Collector's direct involvement. Such gestures, especially in remote tribal areas, not only boost morale but also spotlight the importance of quality education and administrative accountability.
Officials accompanying Collector Upadhyay noted that such interactions help bridge the gap between governance and grassroots realities, giving administrators firsthand insights into local challenges.
During this visit, the District Collector inspected the mother and child care centres in the region and reviewed the housing construction work under PM Janman Yojana. He directed the Block Development Officer (BDO) to ensure the swift completion of the under-construction houses.
The District Collector also visited the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Mudulipada, where he assessed the available facilities and challenges, and inspected the newly constructed PHC building, which is still under development.
Upadhyay instructed the Project Administrator, Integrated Tribal Development Agency, and the BDO to ensure the timely completion of all ongoing development works in the particularly vulnerable tribal group (PVTG) areas — including roads, bridges, and housing projects — as per the government’s timeline.
The District Collector emphasised that the holistic development of the Bonda tribe, a primitive tribal group, and their integration into the mainstream society remain a top priority for the district administration.
