The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted raids at five locations in Odisha, including Bhubaneswar, in connection with alleged financial irregularities involving crores of rupees and tender fixing.
Locations targeted by the CBI include the zonal office of Bridge and Roof Co Ltd. near Ram Mandir in Bhubaneswar, its branch office in Nayapalli, the residence of Debadutta Mohapatra, the owner of Aditya Dev Infratech Private Limited in the Nakhara area of Cuttack, and Chhatrapur.
The raids were carried out following a case registered by the Delhi CBI against the Bridge and Roof Company Limited.

Incidentally, CBI sleuths had apprehended four individuals, including Mohapatra, from the Mayfair Hotel in Bhubaneswar during another surprise raid yesterday night when a deal of some sort was reportedly taking place.
During that operation, a luxury vehicle, net cash worth around Rs 1 crore, and gold ornaments were reportedly seized from them and as many as 4 people were taken into CBI custody.
As per reports, the raids continued throughout the night along with a simultaneous thorough interrogation of Debadutta Mohapatra and his associates by the CBI officials.
Till the last reports came in, besides Odisha, simultaneous raids were being conducted at 11 locations across India, including Delhi and Kolkata.

As of now, no official statement or response has been received from either the Bridge and Roof Company Limited or Aditya Dev Infratech Private Limited.
Meanwhile, sources reported that the CBI has detained a government official during this raid.
The official was caught near the Mayfair area while attempting to make a deal and had reportedly switched three vehicles en route to the location before finally arriving in a white car, added sources.
While preliminary investigations suggest his connection with Bridge and Roof Company Limited, additional details are awaited following the ongoing intensive questioning by CBI.
