In a significant development, commuters in Bhubaneswar can now get real-time information about traffic jams, ongoing road construction, and crowded areas without leaving their homes. The Commissionerate Police is all set to resume providing regular traffic updates through FM radio channels.

Earlier, traffic updates used to be broadcast via FM, but this service was discontinued some time ago. Now, to strengthen traffic management and ensure smoother movement, the Commissionerate Police has decided to restart this valuable service. They have coordinated with all FM channels, and the traffic police will work in collaboration with these channels to provide timely traffic information.

With the upcoming festival season, an increase in road traffic and congestion is expected. Through the FM service, residents will receive updated information on which roads are congested, where construction work is underway, and other important traffic advisories.

As per sources, this initiative aims to help citizens plan their journeys better, avoid traffic snarls, and reduce travel time by staying informed directly through FM radio broadcasts.

"Traffic updates used to be broadcast via FM a few years ago. Information about heavy congestion in any area and other alternative routes used to be provided through FM radio channels earlier. The Commissionerate Police is all set to resume providing regular traffic updates through FM radio channels. Commissionerate Police has decided to restart this valuable service. They have coordinated with all FM channels, and the traffic police will work in collaboration with these channels to provide timely traffic information," said Police Commissioner Suresh Devdatta Singh.
