In an extraordinary act of humanity, a security guard from the Chatabar area of Bhubaneswar has given the gift of life to others even in death. Identified as Ullas Dehuri, the guard met with a serious road accident on the 31st of last month while on his way to work.

He was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition and admitted for treatment. Despite doctors’ best efforts, Ullas was later declared brain dead.

At this moment of tragedy, his family took a noble decision — to donate his organs. Following their consent, Ullas’s heart, kidneys, liver, and lungs were harvested and given to patients in need, ensuring that his legacy would live on through the lives he saved.

Family members also informed that Ullas will be honoured with a Guard of Honour, and his last rites will be conducted with full respect in his native village.

His family has expressed pride that even in his death, he has become a source of hope for others.
