Bhubaneswar: Robber snatches chain with fake pistol, nabbed

Cuttack-Bhubaneswar Commissionerate police nabbed a hardened criminal in connection with a recent robbery at Vivekananda Marg in Bhubaneswar.

The accused has been identified as Punia Sahu. He has more than 20 cases against him at several police stations in Bhubaneswar.

As per reports, Punia allegedly snatched chains from two brothers at a shop in Vivekananda Marg some days back by threatening them with a fake pistol. Its CCTV footage went viral on social media platforms.

Police sources said, Punia is a habitual offender and before snatching the chain, he had fired shots at the police too.

He will be forwarded to court tomorrow.
