Auto-rickshaw driver stabbed in Bhubaneswar; outfit stages protest
An auto-rickshaw driver named Mitu Das was attacked on Sunday afternoon with a knife by unidentified individuals in Bhubaneswar. The assault occurred in Bharatpur locality, after a ride was scheduled online.

Victim Das is currently receiving medical attention at a local hospital in critical condition.
In response, members of the auto-rickshaw drivers’ outfit congregated near Kalinga Studio Square, calling for the swift apprehension of those responsible for the assault.
“Mitu Das, a member of our auto-rickshaw drivers’ association, was brutally attacked by three miscreants in front of his family members. They chased him and committed the crime when his father, mother, and children were present,” Smart City Auto-Rickshaw Drivers’ Association (a local outfit) president Dinabandhu Nayak said to OTV.
As local police intensify their investigation, tensions continue to rise in the area. The protest was underway till the time when this report was filed.
Worth mentioning, earlier in another incident, a house owner allegedly stabbed his tenant following an argument on the night of January 27 in Madhupatna locality of Cuttack. A case was later registered and the accused was detained by the local police.

The house owner and the tenant had a heated argument over an undisclosed issue. In a fit of rage, the house owner attacked the tenant in his house and stabbed him.
