Applicants under the Subhadra Yojana who will apply by March 31, this year will receive the pending two installments (Rs 5000 each) of 2024. This decision was made during a Cabinet meeting held yesterday.
After the meeting, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja stated that the last date for applications for the 2024-2025 period is March 31, 2025. All eligible women who submit their applications by this deadline will be provided with the two pending installments, as per the decision taken in the meeting.
He urged eligible individuals to submit necessary documents promptly before March 31 to benefit from the scheme designed to aid those in financial need. This initiative is part of the government's wider strategy to offer economic relief and empowerment to the populace.

The decision was taken after Odisha government on Friday extended the deadline for the first installment of ‘Subhadra Yojana to March 31 for beneficiaries to apply for the benefits offered under the prestigious women-upliftment scheme.
“Talking about Subhadra Yojana, beneficiaries who apply by March 31, 2025, will also be eligible to get money given in four phases of the first installment if they have been rejected or put in hold for some reason. But, they need to rectify their documents for which they have been rejected and apply by March 31 to get the benefits,” informed Manoj Ahuja, Chief Secretary to the Government of Odisha.
“If they apply by March 31, they will get their Rs 10,000 in two installments,” the Chief Secretary added.
The major decision was taken by the Cabinet presided by CM Mohan Majhi. Applicants should note that the scheme’s application window for the 2024-2025 period closes on March 31, 2025. Meeting this deadline guarantees the provision of the two financial installments as decided by the government.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet also gave nod to hiking the pension of handicapped people and elderly persons from Rs 1200 to Rs 3500, given that they are above 80 years of age.
“The government has also hiked the pension of handicapped and elderly people who are above 80 years of age. Instead of the regular Rs 1200, they will now receive Rs 3500 from the government,” he added.
