At least 12 Gharial hatchlings were re-released on Sunday into their natural habitat at the Mahanadi River’s Sunakhania Ghat under Satkosia wildlife division.

These hatchlings had been temporarily housed in an artificial pond in July, anticipating that they might be swept away by the river’s floodwater.
