Crucial meeting of Committee on Public Undertakings held under Chairmanship of BJP VP Jay Panda in Delhi

A significant meeting of the Committee on Public Undertakings was held on Monday in New Delhi, under the chairmanship of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Vice-President and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda.

The representatives of the Department of Telecommunications and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) participated in the meeting and presented their stances.

Taking to his personal X handle, the Kendrapara MP later wrote, “India’s public undertakings play a crucial role in driving connectivity and empowering rural communities. Chaired today’s Committee on Public Undertakings meeting with representatives from BSNL and the Department of Telecommunications."

Balasore parliamentarian Pratap Sarangi, Rajya Sabha MP Debashish Samantaray including other members of the committee and senior officials also took part in the meeting.

Worth mentioning, this was the BJP National Vice-President's sixth meeting after he assumed the office as its chairman.

Committee on Public Undertakings (COPU) is one of the key committees of the country. It is a financial standing committee in the Parliament of India that examines the accounts and reports of public sector undertakings (PSUs).

The COPU is one of three financial committees in the Parliament, along with the Estimates Committee and the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
