Contractual Employees In Odisha To Be Called ‘Initial Appointees’; To Get 50% More Salary From 1st Year

Law Minister Pratap Jena said that those who have been working as contractual employees at present are entitled for regularisation of jobs after six years in service. With the amended rules, the initial appointees will get 50 per cent hike in salary from the first year itself as remuneration.

In a major decision, the Odisha Cabinet on Monday approved the proposal to amend the Contractual Appointment Rules, 2013. As per the amended rules, the contractual government employees will henceforth be called ‘Initial appointees’ and the staff in Group B, C and D category of posts will be benefitted by the move.

The proposal was approved by the Odisha Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The State Cabinet also took 16 other crucial decisions concerning various departments today.
