Dedicating oneself to safeguard the motherland is the noblest of deeds. With an aim to help youths make their way to this service, some jawans in Odisha have taken up the responsibility of preparing village youths to become men of valour.
According to reports, Amulya Bindhani and his two friends from Khaira area of Balasore district, who are currently serving in Indian army, have opened an institute-- Kalinga Defence Academy in their area for the selfless motive.
The jawans often come on holidays on rotational basis to join their academy to provide various Army trainings to the poor youths of the area free of cost.

“Youth of our area are talented enough to join various defence forces. But they are not getting proper guidance. We have learnt the lesson from our gruelling training regime. We are committed to help the youths of our area crack the tough Army jobs,” said Bindhani.
“These boys here do not have information as to what to do to join the Army, so we thought a coaching centre would really help them,” he added.
Young Army aspirants are provided various physical training and exercises along with preparation for the written examination which are helpful for the interviews.
“We are trained here twice a day- in the morning and evening hours. The coaching is really helpful. Many youth from our area have cleared interviews and joined Army by getting training from the academy,” said Nabirani Giri, a trainee of the academy.
“We are really grateful for Bindhani sir and his friends. Only because of them, the poor youth of the area are getting free training and preparing themselves well for the tough service in Army,” said Biswajit Behera, another trainee.
