In the mysterious death case of Paralakhmundi ACF (Assistant Conservator of Forest) Soumya Ranjan Moahapatra, the family of the deceased officer on Wednesday shared photocopies of a letter which was allegedly recovered from the official residence of the late officer.
Soumya’s brother distributed copies of the letter purportedly written by Bidya Bharati in an orange-coloured paper to media representatives. In the letter, Bidya allegedly wrote that she hated someone and took a wrong decision in her life. She also sought an apology in her write-up.
“I hate You the most in the world. Plz God, Pardon me for all my mistakes…” excerpts of the letter read.
In the second page of the two-page letter, it is written “I Hate this man. Even hate combine my name with his....Hate this World.”
Meanwhile, while clarifying over the letter Bidya Bharati, said “I used to write whenever I was in stress. I had not written anything pointing at any particular individual. I usually write whatever strikes my mind while under depression.”
Clarifying over the small red bag she carried during Soumy’s hospitalisation, Bidya said that it was actually a towel. “I was carrying it to the hospital for the use of Soumya. There was nothing inside it,” she claimed.
Bidya further clarified that she was not aware of the agreement on Soumya’s properties which has been widely reported. She said there was no such discussion with the family members of Soumya over any property deal.

“My mother-in-law always spoke to me. But, she hadn’t utter a single word regarding the allegation which she has levelled against me now,” Bidya added.
Meanwhile, the four-member Crime Branch team, which is assisting the Paralakhimundi police in the investigation, discussed with Superintendent of Police, Gajapati district, Tapan Patnaik on the status of investigation.
The SP said that investigation is underway in right direction. “The DFO who has been named in the FIR will be questioned in due time. Cyber expert has been roped in by Crime Branch team to check mobile phones, calls records and other details. Police team has recorded the dying declaration of deceased forest officer. The autopsy report is still awaited,” the SP said.
The woman police officer Mamata Panda who had allegedly detained the ambulance will also be questioned, the SP added.
“Gurandi police station OIC Mamata Panda will be questioned on circumstances under which ambulance carrying the ACF was stopped and reason for her arrival at spot without instructions from department” Patnaik informed.
On the other hand, the Paralakhemundi police recorded the statement of the family members and widow of the late forest officer in Balasore and Mayurbhanj on Tuesday.
