Flabby arms make a lot of people conscious. Though overall exercise does help, it can be tough to lose fat from arms, thighs, lower belly and glutes. Here we share a few reasons as to why it’s difficult to lose upper arm fat and which exercises give the best results.
Upper Arm Fat can be due to any of the following reasons:
Heredity and Genetics - responsible for where excess fat is stored in the body.
Obesity - Subcutaneous fat (present under the skin) gets stored mostly in the underarm area.
Hormonal Changes - Production of oestrogen and progesterone leads to excess skin between the breast and underarm
Health issues - Issues like Axillary Breast Tissue causes an increase in arm fat
But don't worry, we've got four arm exercises which can help reduce the folds of skin and tissues without burning a hole in your pocket.
Chair Dip Exercise:
Lean back in a chair and push yourself forward until your buttocks are off the chair and your heels are firmly planted on the ground. Lower your body to the floor and then lift it back up while holding onto the chair's sides. Relax for 20 to 60 seconds between each set. Start with 5 dips x 2 sets each and then increase gradually
Stand facing a wall with your legs shoulder width apart. Put your palms on the wall slightly more than shoulder width apart and push forward against the wall while bending your arms forming a diagonal. Go as close to the wall as possible but do not touch it. Start with 10-15 reps and increase as you go along.
Stand with your feet and legs apart while standing and extend your arms in the shape of a V, X and V. Bring your arms together to form the letter "X" as you cross them. Do it 20 times.
Place your feet slightly apart and stand straight. Make fists while holding your arms parallel to the ground. Rotate your arms 20 times in clockwise and anticlockwise motion. This not tightens your upper arm muscles but also strengthens your shoulders.
Continue these exercises and claim the reward, wear your favourite outfits without feeling self-conscious. Flaunt your lean and toned arms, unapologetically!
