Milk tea
Tea was first discovered in China and later on, was made popular in India by the British. When the Chinese stopped sharing their tea production, the British planted tea gardens in India and that is how slowly tea became an integral part of Indians’ daily consumption.
Millions of Indians today do not feel fresh in the morning until they drink their cup of tea. It is known by different names like chai or kawa and is also prepared in different ways in various parts of the country.
But one preparation of tea that is very common across India is milk tea and in many places, it is also called masala chai. However, it is this masala tea or milk tea that is not only addictive but can be harmful to health.
Milk tea can cause depression and anxiety
Recent studies point out that those who are in the habit of drinking milk tea on a regular basis can face depression and anxiety symptoms. And many times this can also make them feel like committing suicide.
Many people in India believe that masala tea or milk tea help get rid of headache. Rather it is the other way. Drinking too much milk tea can lead to addiction which in turn causes headaches.
Tea which is made by boiling milk and tea leaves together for a long time and that also has a lot of foam is particularly very unhealthy. Regular consumption of milk tea prepared in this way can make a person mentally ill.
Too much caffeine causes a chemical imbalance
Just as coffee, tea also has caffeine and when the same tea leaves are boiled with milk for a long time, a strong extract of caffeine seeps into it. When the level of caffeine in your body increases it leads to chemical imbalance in the body.
Importantly, those who are used to drinking milk tea cannot live without it and become restless and irritated when they do not get it at regular times.
