A 270-bed COVID care centre was inaugurated by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at Jindal Steel and Power Plant (JSPL) in Angul district on Tuesday.
This centre is equipped with 270 oxygen beds, five ventilator beds and 10 non-invasive ventilation (NIV) beds and will be backed with 24X7 service by doctors to serve the local community and JSPL employees, informed a release issued by JSPL.
State Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Das and JSPL Chairman Naveen Jindal, among others, were present on the occasion.

Pradhan termed the inauguration of the facility as a major step towards Covid-19 care in the State. He said the Covid care centre at Chendipada will be under the control of the district administration and thanked Naveen Jindal for setting up the facility.
Speaking on the occasion, Health Minister Naba Das said, "About 30 doctors, 12 AYUSH doctors, 29 paramedics, 42 staff nurses, 20 women health workers, 24 ambulances, 5 hearses have been provided to Angul district. The 270-bed Covid Care centre will facilitate better treatment to the residents of the district."
JSPL chairman Naveen Jindal said the centre has all modern facilities and quality treatment will be provided so that the lives of people can be saved. He added that about 50 patients were currently undergoing treatment at the centre.
