It is not news now that Alia Bhatt is all set to lead the all-female spy universe along with Sharvari Wagh. Although YRF wanted this to be a secret, it somehow found its way to the limelight. Speaking about the same, the CEO of YRF, Akshaye Widhani said, "I'll share the worst kept secret in the industry, which is, that Alia Bhatt is headlining a Spy Universe film and that the schedule starts later this year. But you know, talking about this spy universe, we are just so thrilled and excited about having this IP in the studio."
The buzz is that Alia and Sharvari will be playing super-agents in this yet-untitled action thriller. According to Widhwani, currently, YRF is going through a financial and cultural juggernaut. The CEO said, “So there's a lot of stuff that's going to come on the spy universe, We're going to see more and more films getting made under it. But of course, not going to share everything here. But we will talk about it at a more opportune time. But for now, I can just say that Alia Bhatt is headlining a spy universe film."
Career-wise Alia Bhatt is at the pinnacle. Her last release Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was a big hit last year and won her the Best Actress Filmfare Award. Her appearance in the Hollywood movie “Heart of Stone” also was well received.
Next, she is gearing up to complete her movie Jigra which is being helmed by “Monica O My Darling” fame director Vasan Bala. The Raazi actress is co-producing Jigra with her mentor and famous producer-director Karan Johar.
Jigra is all set to release in the theaters on September 27. The movie is about the love of sister towards her brother and how she would do anything to protect and keep him happy. Before Jigra she had co-produced Darlings movie with Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment.
