Prasanth Varma's HanuMan has scripted history with its stupendous performance at the box office. Starring Teja Sajja in the lead, the first superhero movie of Tollywood has grossed Rs 250 crore with its worldwide collection. Also, breaking the barriers and setting a new benchmark, the Hindi version of the movie has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark. Now, all eyes are on the second instalment of Varma's cinematic franchise.
While earlier reports were abuzz that the makers are planning to rope in Tollywood Megastar Chiranjeevi as Lord Hanuman and Mahesh Babu as Lord Ram, recent reports claim that the makers are planning to rope in KGF fame Yash as Lord Hanuman in the sequel.

Moreover, earlier, media reports claimed that Yash was the first choice of Varma for Lord Hanuman. But, later the team opted for an animated figure of Lord Hanuman. Even, several fans also noticed that Lord Hanuman's eyes in the movie had a resemblance to Chiranjeevi.
But, it seems all previous claims and speculations were false.
According to the latest report in Bollywood Hungama, a close source to Prasanth Varma revealed that Yash is the first choice of the makers for Lord Hanuman. However, the earlier reports of being considered for essaying the role of Lord Hanuman were baseless.
Bollywood Hungama quoted the close source as saying, "There is some confusion in the Mumbai press over the casting of Bajrangbali Hanuman. Lord Hanuman will be a prominent part of the sequel. And yes, Yash is a very strong contender for the part. However, he was never considered for the first film. This is a false narrative flying around in the Mumbai media. But he is most likely to play Lord Hanuman in the sequel. As Teja Sajja played Hanumanth in HanuMan he will reprise his role in the sequel Jai Hanuman. Teja Sajja is not playing Lord Hanuman. He will reprise his role as Hanumanth, Hanumanji's bhakt."

Well, this development is certainly startling for movie lovers. On one side, Yash will be reportedly essaying the role of Demon King Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Sunny Deol. On the other side, if the reports are anything to go by, Yash will be seen as Lord Hanuman in Varma's Jai Hanuman. However, fans need to wait for an official announcement for both developments.
