The producer father and son duo of Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani have been going through some tough times after their movies flopped back to back. The final nail in the coffin was when their last release titled Bade Miyan Chote Miyan starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff failed to get even a decent opening. The production team was planning a sequel but the movie failed even to recover 50% of its investment.
Since the last few days, there have been allegations against Vashu Bhagnani that he has not paid salaries to many of his staff members for the last two years which is quite shocking. Now Bollywood Hungama has reported that Vashu Bhagnani has sold his 7-floor office of Pooja Entertainment for 250 crores. The producer has also laid off 80% of his employees. The name of the builder to whom the building has been sold has not been revealed yet but the source says that it is expected that the builder will now construct a majestic residential complex at this place.
Now the office of Pooja Entertainment has been shifted to a two-bedroom flat in Juhu. Although the decision to sell the office was taken very recently, the layoffs had already started in January 2024 after the production team failed to take off a Tiger Shroff movie for two years due to financial constraints. The team further reduced the workforce in April after BMCM underperformed at the box office.
It is believed that the loss suffered by Pooja Entertainment was huge after BMCM in which the company had invested 350 crores and could only mint 59.17 crores. It led to a huge loss of 125 to 150 crores to the production banner. According to the source, Vashu will pay off his debts to financiers and the pending salaries of employees with the amount received after selling the office.
From Bell Bottom to Mission Raniganj and the dismal performance of Tiger Shroff’s Ganapath, all these movies flopped disastrously. It caused a huge loss to Pooja Entertainment. However, the good news is that the company is not folding. Both Vashu and Jackky are eager to bounce back with Ashwatthama featuring Shahid Kapoor in the lead.
