Rumours about Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Munmun Dutta aka Babitaji and Tapu aka Raj Anadkat getting engaged surfaced yesterday and created quite a buzz on the web. Interestingly, most of the leading media portals carried this news even though no such news was officially given by either Munmun or Raj. Rumours about the two dating each other have been going around for the last couple of years ever since the young actor made his entry on the show a few years ago.
He has already left TMKOC but the gossip mill continued to churn rumours about their affair. After the euphoria created by the news about their engagement reached its peak, the two actors had to come forward and deny it was fake. Today Munmun Dutta who has been abroad for some shooting assignment has shared a related post.
On her IG account the actress posted, “Funny how FAKE news spread like wildfire and keeps coming back like a boomerang. Putting things straight again! Not engaged. Not married. Not pregnant.”
In her another post, Munmun Dutta penned, “Also IF and When I do marry, whether a younger man or an older one, I shall do it PROUDLY. Honey, that’s my Bengali genes. Always proud and brave. Joi Maa Durga.”
Now that certainly seems to have cleared air about Munmun Dutt and Raj Anadkat’s engagement rumours. Over the years Munmun as Babitaji has earned an identity for herself among the TMKOC fans. Just as the show makers have not been able to replace Disha Vakani as Dayaben even though she has left the show for more than 5 years now, similarly, the name of Munmun is synonymous with Babitaji and people know her more by her name in TIMKOC than her real name. Thus, she is irreplaceable.
Apart from the serial, Munumn Dutta also does modeling and is a well-known face in the world of fashion.
