Bollywood is struggling to deliver mega-hits. The reason is that most of the top superstars or stars have failed to provide super hits despite getting huge paychecks from the producers. While the actors' fees eat up a major portion of the production budget, when the movie fails to recover even the investment, it leaves the producers and distributors in deep trouble.
In such a situation, more often the actor should stop getting work if he has delivered multiple flops in a row. But that does not seem to be happening in Bollywood at least with star kids. Sara Ali Khan , Ananya Panday, and Janhvi Kapoor with no big hits to their names are still getting good movies from leading production banners. Ditto with Tiger Shroff, whose last multiple movies have been a disaster.
The only movie that has worked for Tiger is War and it can be easily said that the movie was a big hit because it was led by Hrithik Roshan and was produced under the banner of YRF. Fans did love the action and dance faceoff between Duggu and Tiger but the movie was not a hit because of his inclusion in War.
From Munna Michael to BMCM-Most of the movies were a disaster
In his career of 10 years, Tiger Shroff has delivered only a handful of hits and the rest of them are flops or even big disasters. His first two movies- Heropanti (2014) and Baaghi (2016) were hits whereas Baaghi 2 released a few years later was a blockbuster. And that sums up his level of success. The rest of his movies like Student of the Year 2, A Flying Jatt, Munna Michael, Heropanti 2, Ganapath, and Bade Miya Chote Miyan were big flops.
While Baaghi 3 was an average hit, producers did not think the success was worthy enough to come out with a fourth movie for the franchise. His Ganapath with Kriti Sanon was also planned as a two-movie franchise but since the first film was a big disaster the sequel was shelved. Now the news is that his upcoming movie Hero No.1 has also been shelved. So while now work is not coming to him as it used to he was offered so many opportunities despite multiple flops in a row, courtesy being the son of Jackie Shroff.
Jitendra Kumar is doing a fabulous job on OTT
Jitendra Kumar has done a fabulous job in Panchayat and The Kota Factory series. He has received a lot of appreciation and is certainly worthy of getting good movies for the big screen. But while despite flops Tiger Shroff continues to get projects and brand endorsements (Gutka ad with SRK and Ajay Devgn), no such opportunities have been offered to Jitendra Kumar and that can be mostly because he does not have many connections in Bollywood.
