SS Rajamouli's films have 'no logic'! When Karan Johar said, 'It depends on conviction'

As the filmmaker turns 53 on May 25, 2025, here is an interesting anecdote when KJo said that South ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli's films have 'no logic'!

Rajamouli: The Gamechanger 

SS Rajamouli has gained immense popularity worldwide. His movies such as the Baahubali franchise and RRR have been well-received globally. His movies are distinguished by their epic storytelling, grand visuals and cultural richness. Undeniably, he has added a golden chapter in the history of Indian cinema giving Telugu cinema recognition at the national and international level. Today he is counted among the best directors in the cinema world.

Rajamouli's Films Have No Logic!

However, once Karan Johar described his films as without logic. Even though his movies like Baahubali and RRR are among the highest-grossing Indian films, KJo believes that there is no logic in Rajamouli's films because his films are based on faith.

Earlier, during a conversation with Komal Nahta KJo said that the blockbusters of great filmmakers have nothing to do with logic. He said, "Conviction is very important. If you look at anything, especially if you analyse the journey of the best filmmakers, you will see that the biggest hits are made on conviction. Logic does not matter in a film."

Further, he added, "For example, take any film of Rajamouli sir, where do you see logic? You only see conviction. When conviction comes to the forefront, the audience also believes in it."

To illustrate his point, KJo said, "Look at the big films, whether it is Animal, RRR or Gadar, these films are made with conviction. If you can beat thousands of people with a hand pump, that is conviction, isn't it? Anil Sharma believes Sunny Deol can do it. That is conviction."

Problem Arises When Filmmakers Focus on Logic!
