Shraddha Kapoor has become immensely popular as Stree. While the first movie released in 2018 was a hit, it is Stree 2 released just last weekend that is doing blockbuster business and has crossed 300 crores. The character has become so famous that now the makers are planning to get a spin-off for this character of Shraddha Kapoor.
There is a strong buzz that this character is going to get a standalone movie that will focus on the unnamed character of Stree played by Shraddha. The writer of the movie Niren Bhatt recently said, “Yes, we will explore the story of Shraddha Kapoor as Stree's daughter, and that's why we didn't reveal her name."
And that can be one reason the sequel had an interesting twist in the climax. Everyone who was watching Stree 2 thought that Shraddha Kapoor was the Stree but she is a daughter of Stree and remains unnamed till the end. She only tells her name to Rajkummar Rao in his ears, so the audience cannot hear it.
Stree 2 has increased popularity of Shraddha Kapoor
Before the release of Stree 2 Shraddha Kapoor was the fourth most followed Indian celebrity on Instagram. But within a few days of the release of this sequel, she surpassed PM Narendra Modi and became the third most followed Indian on Insta. And today, the beautiful actress matched Priyanka Chopra Jonas to become the second most-followed Indian on Instagram with 91.8 million followers.
The first spot belongs to Virat Kohli who is way ahead of both Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Shraddha Kapoor with a massive following of 270 million on Instagram. Surprisingly, Shraddha who is so popular among her followers and on social media does not have any movie in the pipeline as of now.
She is quite choosey and has only one or two releases in a couple of years. After Stree 2 fans are now eagerly awaiting her to announce a new project soon.
