More on Salman Khan's Upcoming

Reportedly, Salman Khan will be portraying a real-life character for the first time. If the reports are anything to go by, Sallu will portray Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu's character in the movie. The film is based on a chapter about Colonel B. Santosh Babu from the book India's Most Fearless 3 (2022), who led the 16 Bihar regiment during a violent conflict with Chinese troops at Galwan Valley in 2020.

The chapter captures how Indian soldiers, though vastly outnumbered, bravely defended their territory against the well-trained Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA). Colonel Babu was martyred while confronting the Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley region of Ladakh on June 14, 2020. In 2021, he was posthumously awarded the Maha Vir Chakra, India's second-highest wartime gallantry honour.

The film is reportedly scheduled to go on floors in the second week of July 2025, with a start-to-finish schedule of 70 days. The shooting will be done in Mumbai and Ladakh. Even reports have been abuzz that Salman Khan is training in low-oxygen conditions. By simulating the high-altitude low-oxygen environment of the Galwan Valley, he is preparing himself physically and emotionally to portray a soldier enduring extreme conditions, which is a key aspect of the movie's setting.
