After the glorious success of Dhoom, Dhoom 2 and Dhoom 3, recently, reports have been abuzz about Dhoom 4, with Ranbir Kapoor playing the lead (villain). However, did you know that the makers had plans to rope in Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt as the villain in the franchise? Well, following the denial of the superstars', the role of the villain landed with an actor, who was on the verge of getting lost, despite a hit debut.

Salman and Sanjay's Rejection Helped John Abraham Revive His Career!

Model-turned-actor John Abraham has cemented his place in Bollywood with his acting prowess. Throughout his career spanning over 20 decades, John has starred in several hit movies. However, fans still remember the fresh actor who got his breakthrough role in 2003's Jism. But, John was on the verge of getting lost despite a hit debut after multiple movies in a row failed to impress the audience. However, a movie rejected by Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt helped him revive his career and get back on track.

Reportedly, the makers had initially planned to rope in Salman Khan as the main antagonist in Dhoom. However, he turned down the offer to play villain Kabir due to unknown reasons. Later, the makers approached Sanjay Dutt. However, he also refused to do the role.

Ultimately, the role landed with John Abraham, who was relatively new in the industry. It was a different kind of role from the type he usually played. For John, it was a turning point in his career. John's portrayal of the stylish Kabir Sharma received immense love from the audience. His performance was so good in the movie that he overshadowed the protagonist Abhishek Bachchan. Both Dhoom and Kabir became iconic and paved the way for a franchise.

Dhoom even became more famous for its bike as it was the first of its kind film in Bollywood. Dhoom emerged as one of the most popular movies in 2004 and its songs still are chartbusters. Reportedly, the movie made at a budget of Rs 11 crore, earned over Rs 70 crore worldwide.
