The much-awaited teaser of Salman Khan’s Sikandar was released recently. Die-hard Bhaijan fans have been eagerly waiting for it because they desperately want their favourite superstar to deliver a big blockbuster.
Salman Khan looks old, tired and fails to make a mark
The Sikandar teaser was supposed to create a wave and hype. But that has not happened. The teaser does not show something new and indicates that the story is going to be the same revolving around good over bad with Salman Khan as Sikandar saving the weak and poor. Nonetheless, in earlier movies like Dabangg and Wanted the Bollywood superstar looked tough, and appropriate as an action star.
But in this particular teaser, the Sultan actor looks old, and tired and fails to create an impression as a Sikandar who is ready to take on the entire world. Be it the dialogue or the entry of Salman, the overall impact is cringe and messy.
An unimpressed web user said, “Salman has become a parody of himself. He's exactly how TVF portrayed him some 10 years ago. Absolutely 0 expression in the 1:30 min teaser. And that voiceover sounds like he's just lying in his bed and reading his lines.”
Another user has compared the teaser with that of South Indian movies made a decade ago.
Will Sikandar be the last big-budget movie for Salman Khan?
While Salman Khan has always been known to give a good opening and a 100 crore collection is more or less guaranteed, the expectations and the bar have been raised after Animal and Pushpa 2 easily crossed 500 crores.
Even movies like Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2 and Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava have made 300 crore plus milestone look very easy. However, one view of the teaser and fans have lost all hope of this Salman Khan movie making that kind of business. Undoubtedly, the stardom of the Bollywood superstar is unmatched but only those who just love Salman for the person who is will go to watch Sikandar.
Things might certainly be different if the trailer of Sikandar turns out better. There have been times when the trailer and teasers have worked but the movies have failed to impress and vice-versa. Hopefully, Salman Khan ’s movie turns out to be much better than what the teaser has offered.
Or else, many Salman Khan Fans think that it can be the last of big-budget movies for the legendary superstar.
