Prabhas and Kalki 2898 AD has been the only hot topic in the film industry for the last week since the Nag Ashwin directorial hit the theaters on June 27. Fans of the Rebel star have showered lots of love on this science fiction and are eagerly waiting for its sequel.
However, one other sequel that they are hoping to see by next year is Salaar 2. Major updates on this sequel have been much awaited after rumours about Hombale Films shutting down its production hit the web a few weeks ago.
Now Pinkvilla has reported that Salaar 2 is very much in the pipeline and that the duo of Prabhas and Prashanth Neel will kick start work on the same from August 10 onwards. The first schedule will include a 15-day shoot at the Ramoji Film City. The source says, “Through the making of Salaar, Prashanth Neel has already shot for 20 percent of the sequel with Prabhas and Prithviraj. There is a standing set at Ramoji Film City and the journey on Salaar 2 begins with a schedule on this set.” The shoot at the Ramoji Film City was expected to start in June but was delayed due to date issues and rain.
Prashanth Neel to shoot for Salaar 2 and Dragon in parallel
Apart from Salaar 2 Prashant Neel also has Dragon with Jr. NTR that he has planned to complete shooting in 2024-2025. So the director will have to shoot for both the movies in parallel. The source has said, “Prashanth Neel is committed to shooting for two feature films – Salaar 2 and Dragon with NTR Jr - in 2024 and 2025. He has met both the producers and promised to shoot for the two feature films in the pre-decided timelines. He has chalked out a schedule for both the films, and he is confident to have a smooth journey with two of the top stars.”
According to the source, “The real drama and politics of the film unfold in the sequel. One will get to see a different and new dynamic of both Prabhas and Prithviraj in the film, which brings intensity to the storytelling. The entire plot of the sequel was written way back in the pandemic and it’s now time to execute all the drama to the spectacle with scale and heroism.”
