Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Rekha, Shah Rukh Khan
Rekha holds a special place among all the Bollywood actresses. Undoubtedly there have been many more successful and stunning actresses than the Umrao Jaan actress in Indian cinema. But no one can match the sophistication, style, and glamour with which she aces both Western and Indian dresses.
Rekha is one of the few actresses who is known for rocking a simple saree look on the big screen. And ditto with her Western look especially when she dresses in trousers and casuals. This year’s Met Gala 2025 had a theme inspired by Superfine: Tailoring Black Style and that is why most of the celebrities were seen wearing a combination of black and white. There were a few hits and misses with many Indians doing decently good on the blue carpet.
However, fans thought that Rekha could have rocked this year’s Met Gala 2025 theme had she been invited because her special monochrome pictures for Vogue photographed some time ago are just too awesome to ever forget.
Rekhaji looked awesome in and black-and-white Western ensemble
A Reddit user shared a few clicks of Rekha photographed a couple of years ago. These particular pictures were used on the cover of a leading fashion magazine and created quite a stir. In a typical Western attire with a hat and veil covering her face, Rekha’s look left everyone gasping with many saying that she would have eaten everybody with these looks at Met Gala 2025.

From her stance, pose, and sharp expressions to her perfect choice of fabric and fashion, there is not even a single flaw that anyone can point out in her attire. One of the highly impressed social media users said, “Wow the first two looks would have gone straight into Best Dressed.” Another user wrote, “That’s the magic of her style, it always feels timeless and iconic.”
It is a known fact that Rekha rarely used the support of a style expert and most of her dresses and styles were developed based on her inputs indicating how she was always ahead of her times when it came to fashion and styling.
