Ravi Kishan started off with B-grade movie
Though born in Mumbai, his family shifted to Bihar when he was 10 years old. His mother supported his Bollywood aspirations and helped him financially a bit when he left home to pursue a career in movies. Although he did get a movie after a lot of struggle, it was a B-grade film titled Pitamber which had Mithun Chakraborty in the lead.
Did Ramleela and worked in many small roles
During his struggle days, he did many small roles and more often worked as a background artist. He even participated in Ramleela to earn a few bucks and keep on his struggle in the movies.
Got recognition as Rameshwar in Tere Naam
He got recognition as Rameshwar in Tere Naam released in 2003. But it was almost 11 years after the release of his first debut movie Pitamber and that mean he had to struggle a lot to become a popular person. For the role of Rameshwar, he took inspiration from his father who worked as a priest. After that, he started getting many offers in movies.
Ravi Kishan was part of Bigg Boss
The actor was a part of Bigg Boss Season 1 which aired in 2006 and was second runner-up on the show. He also participated in another dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
He recreated Aamir Khan’s stunt in Bhojpuri movie
While Bollywood could not give him stardom, it was the Bhojpuri film industry that made him a superstar. His dialogue, “Zindagi Jhandwa..Phir Bhi Ghamandwa” has become very popular even among non-Bhojpuri audiences. For one of his Bhojpuri films, he recreated the iconic train stunt of Aamir Khan from Ghulam.
Successful stint as TV host
He has been very successful as a television host and has presented shows like Bathroom Singer and a controversial show based on past life regression titled, “Raaz Pichhle Janam Ka.”
