Anurag Basu Makes Big Revelations
According to earlier reports, director Anurag Basu is slated to direct iconic playback singer and actor Kishore Kumar's biopic, which has been in development for over a decade. Moreover, RK was set to step into the shoes of the singer.
During a recent interview with BBC News, Basu confirmed that Ranbir had to choose between the two projects due to the scheduling conflicts.
Basu said, "Ranbir had a tough choice in life — Kishore Kumar or Ramayana. It was very difficult for him. In the end, he chose Ramayana, and I think it was the right decision."
Notably, Basu and Kapoor have previously collaborated on critically acclaimed films like Barfi (2012) and Jagga Jasoos (2017). Thus, the duo expressed a strong desire to team up again. However, their packed schedules made it difficult for the duo to team up for the Kishore Kumar biopic.
“We keep trying to work together, but it’s just not happening,” added Basu.
Is Aamir Khan Confirmed for Biopic?
After the Sanju actor stepped away, reports suggest that Aamir Khan is being considered for the much-awaited biopic.
However, Basu refrained from commenting on it.
While talking to Mid-Day, Basu said, Until everything is finalised and the contract is signed, I don’t think I should speak on it. This project has seen many ups and downs over the years. So, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it happens this time and I go on set with the story, which I’ve been trying to tell for the last decade. I won’t jinx it by speaking about it."
