The rumours about Salaar 2 getting shelved have become very active for the last few weeks. There has been no confirmed update related to the same from either the director Prashanth Neel or actor Prabhas. But the tabloids and online portals have been churning out similar news citing reasons such as low theatrical collections or creative differences between the KGF director and the Rebel star.
As usual, Prabhas has been mum about all this. Even during his recent interviews, he did not say a word about Salaar 2 getting shelved. And now almost a confirmed reply came from the Salaar team when its official X handle shared an interesting click of Prashanth Neel and Prabhas. The photograph shows both the director and the actor smiling happily and even the caption, “They can’t stop laughing” indicates that all is well between the two and the project is indeed happening. Rather it seems that the caption is the way of Salaar team of taking a dig at those who are spreading such false rumours.
It is a clear hint from the Salaar team that the sequel is in the pipeline and will be announced when the makers feel that the time is right. Apart from Salaar 2 which is also titled Salaar: Part Two – Shouryanga Parvam, Prabhas is currently working on many other projects. For him, at present the most important movie is Kalki 2898 AD which will hit the theaters world-wide on June 27.
The promotions for the film kicked off at the Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad recently where the special AI-enabled bot Bujji of Prabhas aka Bhairava was introduced with a lot of fanfare. The fans were divided over the new long-hair look of their Telugu superstar but the expectations and hype for Kalki 2898 AD have not diminished a bit.
The science-action thriller is one of the costliest flicks ever made in India and for the first time will bring some big Bollywood names like Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in one frame along with Prabhas and Kamal Haasan.
