The Adipurush trailer is out and there are mixed reactions to this Prabhas and Kriti Sanon-led movie. After severe backlash to the teaser, the team has worked hard to set things right and has succeeded in elevating the VFX impact to a large extent.
Prabhas was not the first choice for Adipurush
There have been constant rumours on the web that Prabhas was not the first choice for the role of Raghav. The makers had approached several other actors like Ram Charan, Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun, and even Hrithik Roshan for this role but these superstars rejected the role. And that is how it landed in the lap of Prabhas. However, director Om Raut has vehemently denied it all as mere speculations and has repeatedly confirmed that Prabhas was the first and the only choice for Adipurush.
Who is better as Raghav - Arun Govil or Prabhas?
Arun Govil’s Ram in Ramayana serial is forever remembered as the best ever portrayed by any actor. Recently when the serial was once again telecast by Doordarshan during the Corona pandemic, the young generation was also introduced to the Ram from the 90s. So, naturally, a comparison was expected to take place between Arun Govil and Prabhas.
Many still believe that Arun Govil is the best whereas die-hard Prabhas fans believe that the South Indian superstar will take the character to a new height. But one point put forth by Arun Govil in his video is that both Ram and Krishna were never bodybuilders but trained archers with normal bodies.
On the other hand, Prabhas or Sunny Singh as Raghav and Lakshman respectively have a strong and bulky build-up similar to that of a hero in action-packed movies. Govil believes that this is where the director is straying away from the original Ramayana. However, Om Raut has always maintained that the story is close to Ramayana but with modern touch-ups, and hence such differences are expected.
Prabhas is taking home the biggest paycheck ever with Adipurush
Earlier there were speculations that the movie was being made on a budget of Rs 350 to Rs 400 crore. Now the rumours are that the budget has exceeded to Rs 700 crore because the creative team had to change the VFX after severe backlash from the viewers.
The latest rumour is that Prabhas will walk away with the optimum paycheck for Adipurush and is taking home a whopping amount of Rs150 crore. However, neither the superstar nor Om Raut has confirmed these speculations.
Meanwhile, it is believed that neither these comparisons nor the speculations will have much impact on the success of Adipurush. Prabhas’ magic was evident during the screening of the trailer in Hyderabad and the movie will do well in Tollywood and other parts of South India.
However, Prabhas is currently eyeing super success in Bollywood but whether Adipurush will reach that level or not will depend on the quality of content developed by Om Raut and the team.
