Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala surprised everyone with their engagement a couple of weeks ago. While speculations and rumors about the two actors were adrift for the last two years they never made any official confirmation. Both Nagarjuna Akkineni- Naga Chaitanya ’s father and his mother Laxmi were present at the engagement ceremony. As is known Chay is Nagarjuna’s son from his first marriage to Laxmi Daggubati but they later divorced and the Shiva actor since then has been married to actress Amala.
Similarly, the Laal Singh Chaddha actor was earlier married to Samantha Ruth Prabhu and after three years of marriage, the two separated in 2021. The Daggubati family which also is a big name in the South Indian film world similar to Akkineni had happily accepted Sam as their daughter-in-law and most of the family members from the Daggubati family follow the actress and comment on her posts on Instagram even now.
Despite the divorce, Daggubati heads like actor Venkatesh and others continue to respond to posts from Samantha whereas none of the family members except Chay’s mother Laxmi is following Sobhita Dhulipala. That has triggered the gossip mill with many Tollywood lovers saying that the Daggubati family still considers Sam a family whereas they somehow do not seem to be in favour of welcoming Sobhita into the family fold.
Surprisingly, none of the members from the Daggubati family except Laxmi was present during the engagement ceremony which triggered rumours that Chay got engaged to the PS1 actress against the wishes of his maternal family. Interestingly, none from the Daggubati family congratulated Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita officially on social media which is very surprising.
It is believed that Samantha was friends with Rana Daggubati and daughter of Venkatesh and it seems she is closer to them. So it may be difficult for Sobhita to create a space for herself among the Daggubati family if her relationship with Chay culminates in marriage in the future.
