Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is dubbed by fans 'King of Romance.' It would not be wrong to say that SRK has been the flag bearer of love and romance in Bollywood for many years. SRK has a bunch of blockbuster movies in the romantic genre including DDLJ, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kal Ho Na Ho, Veer Zara, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, etc. However, it seems King Khan is tired of his 'lover boy' image and is more interested in exploring other genres.
SRK made a thumping comeback in 2023 with Pathaan which went on to become a blockbuster. Moreover, this action-packed movie brought back the lost glory of Bollywood. Following that, he came up with Jawan and the movie went on script history. Both the movies were in action genre and the response for the movie says it all. The audience loved SRK in his action avatar. Towards the end of the year, the DDLJ actor came up with Dunki. Though the movie's collection didn't match up with his previous two movies, it had a decent box office collection. Moreover, the movie was showered with praise from all quarters.

While the audience missed SRK's romantic part in his recent movies in a row, many were hopeful that soon they will get to see the 'King of Romance' in his signature style of stretching out his hands and once again he will make everyone fall in love. But, it seems, SRK has decided to end love and romance on screen.
Though it sounds surprising, a recent report claimed that Shah Rukh Khan stepped out from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Inshallah. Moreover, the report also claims that he is least interested in the romantic genre these days and wants to experiment with other genres.
Notably, ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead, has been put on hold due to budget constraints. Later, he planned to revive Inshallah. As per reports, instead of Salman Khan, Bhansali went with Shah Rukh Khan. Bhansali was engaged with SRK over the past few months and delved into a storyline and character that would seamlessly align with King Khan’s persona. Though SRK had shown some interest in the script earlier, however, in the last meeting, the Dunki actor conveyed his decision not to do the film.
Bollywood Hungama quoted a close source to the development as saying, “SRK believes that he has done too much romance onscreen and is not looking to step into that space again anytime soon until and unless something out of the box comes his way.”
As per the source, the Jawan actor politely conveyed his decision to SLB and asked him to come back with a fresh subject, which is a little more larger than life.
“Shah Rukh Khan loves Sanjay Leela Bhansali and wants to team up with him. However, he is in no mood to do just a regular run-of-the-mill rom-com. He has asked Bhansali to come to him with something that warrants the union of two giant forces. He is well aware of the expectations and wants to do a sure shot 1000 crore project with SLB,” the source added.
Well, recently Bhansali’s next project was officially announced. The movie titled ‘Love & War’ stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal in the lead. While excitement has elevated among movie lovers to watch the trio sharing screen space, such reports of ‘SRK won’t romance anymore’ will certainly dishearten his fans.
