Hrithik Roshan's Krrish 4 is one of the much-awaited flicks. After filmmaker Siddharth Anand teased about the superhero 'coming back' earlier this year, the excitement among fans skyrocketed. While there has been no update on the fourth instalment of the franchise, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan recently confirmed that the announcement about Krrish 4 will be made soon. However, he also announced his retirement from direction.
During a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, veteran filmmaker Rakesh Roshan confirmed that he will be producing Krrish 4 with his son Hrithik reprising his iconic role of superhero. The movie will be produced under his banner Filmkraft Productions. Meanwhile, he also announced his retirement from direction.
"I don't think so I'll be directing any further. But I'll surely be announcing Krrish 4 very soon,” said Rakesh.
Notably, Rakesh Roshan kicked off the franchise in 2003 with the sci-fi movie Koi Mil Gaya. Later, he turned it into a superhero franchise in 2006 with the introduction of Krrish, followed by Krrish 3 in 2013. Now, it's been over a decade and fans have been eagerly waiting to see their beloved superhero Krrish taking up a new mission. Earlier this year, Siddharth dropped a hint about Krrish 4 by reposting a fan's picture featuring Duggu as Krrish. While the post's caption read, "He's coming back," Siddharth replied, "Yup, he is."
As it seems, owing to his deteriorating health condition, Rakesh decide to step back as the director and handover the mantle to someone else. While there is no clarification, fans speculate that Siddharth will likely be helming Krrish 4.
Fans can expect an official update on Krrish 4 from the makers soon.
Not Vivek Oberoi, Ajay Devgn was the first choice for Kaal
While Duggu reprised his iconic role of Superhero Krrish in the third instalment of the franchise, Vivek Oberoi was seen as the antagonist Kaal. However, before signing Vivek, Rakesh approached Ajay Devgn for the role. But, the Singham Again actor turned down the offer.
During an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha, Rakesh revealed that he had approached Ajay to play the baddie in Krrish 3. He had envisioned him as Kaal. But Ajay turned down the offer as he felt that as a hero, he can't be killed by another hero.

“We never got a chance to work together. I couldn’t make a film in which I could cast him. He’s a very fine actor. In every film, he leaves a very big impact. I want to work with him but I am not getting a chance. I did go to him for Krrish 3 to play Vivek Oberoi’s role," Rakesh was quoted as saying.
Furthermore, Rakesh revealed that Ajay appreciated the story and screenplay of Krrish 3.
As per Rakesh's revelations, Ajay said, "Rakesh ji mere liye ye karna thoda mushkil hoga kyunki main bhi hero hoon. Mujhe end mein maare, acha nahi lagega. Aur aap toh compromise karenge nahi (It will be difficult for me to play the part because even I am a hero. If I get killed in the end, it won’t look nice and you won’t compromise on the story).
When Rakesh said that he wouldn't compromise, Ajay turned down the offer.
