The Kapil Sharma Show is back with its new season. Albeit this time one of the popular characters Sapna will not be seen on the show as Krushna Abhishek has decided to part ways due to payment differences with the makers. Reportedly Chandan Prabhakar will also not be a part of the show this season.
While new actors have already taken place of these characters, one name, in particular, that is regularly missed on Kapil’s hit comedy show is Sunil Grover who made characters like Mashoor Gulati, Rinku Bhabhi, and Gutthi a household name.
Both Kapil and Sunil started their journey from the small stage. While Sunil kicked off his journey in the world of comedy and entertainment with Jaspal Bhatti, Kapil came into the limelight by winning a comedy competition and being a regular part of Comedy Cirkus which also included other comedy actors like Krushna Abhishek, Sudesh Lahiri and more as his competitors. However, it was only Kapil Sharma who enjoyed superstardom and got a comedy show on a leading national television channel by his name and became a big star.
The team of Kapil and Sunil Grover triggered a riot of laughter and many thought that when Sunil left the show, Kappu's show will not be able to get good views or success. But Kapil brought in a new team of Krushna Abhishek and Bharti Singh and made sure that his show continues to enjoy success. Over the years since leaving the show, Sunil has worked in multiple movies like Tandav and Bharat, and was also a part of Sunflower. Next, he will be seen with Shah Rukh Khan in Atlee’s Jawaan.
So, he is getting good work and has managed to sail through after opting out of Kapil’s show. On the other hand, Kapil did earlier try his luck in Bollywood movies but could not get success. In between Kapil debuted on OTT with his Netflix show “ I am not done yet” which was received very well by the audience.
Now he is returning to the movies with Nandita Das-helmed Zwigato and is busy promoting it in international film festivals. The difference between Sunil Grover and Kapil Sharma dabbling their hand in Bollywood is that Sunil Grover has been restricted to doing supporting roles whereas, be it his show, digital debut, or his movie, Kapil Sharma is the lead man and the main attraction.
While Sunil Grover has been doing a few minute stints at events and award functions, Kapil Sharma has been the lead host along with big Bollywood names like Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan. So in every department, Kapil continues to lead the way as compared to all his other contemporaries, be it Sunil Grover or Krushna Abhishek.
