Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD featuring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan in important roles is slated to release on June 27. The bookings have opened worldwide and the tickets are selling like hotcakes. In India and abroad fans are eagerly booking the tickets for Kalki 2898 AD like a frenzy. But in between there are a few fans who got confused and many even felt betrayed.
While Nag Ashwin’s movie is yet to be released, a past release titled Kalki that featured South Indian actor Rajasekhar in the lead has been re-released in a single-screen theatre in Hyderabad. Many Prabhas fans thought it to be the same as that of Kalki 2898 AD and booked the tickets for the Rajasekhar movie. They regretted later on when they found out that it was an entirely different film. To everyone’s surprise, all the six shows of this old movie released in 2019 went housefull.
The Southern actor even hilariously reacted to this on social media. In his post, he penned, “Naaku assalu Sammandham ledhu (I have no connection). Jokes apart... Wishing dear #Prabhas @nagashwin7, Maa #AshwiniDutt garu @VyjayanthiFilms, the stellar cast, and crew all the very very best! May you create history and take the film industry a step ahead @kalki2898ad (sic)." All these shows were booked on BookMyShow App and now they have promised to transfer all these bookings to Kalki 2898 AD.
Nevertheless, this confusion has not affected the hype and the huge momentum that Kalki 2898 AD is creating in the film circuit. Earlier fans had complained that Vyjayanthi Movies is not properly marketing the movie as until the last few weeks the production team did not promote the film in a big way. The lack of hype had left Prabhas fans concerned. However, ever since the trailer of this flick has hit the web, the excitement has escalated to a new level. Not surprisingly, it is quite evident with the speed the bookings for tickets are being made.
