John Abraham’s latest release Vedaa has failed to perform at the box office. Even after being in the industry for more than two decades, he still is not considered a good actor by many. John has mostly been admired for his looks, sex appeal and of course a strong masculine personality. Bollywood neglecting him as an actor is quite obvious from the very earlier episodes of Koffee with Karan where John was often termed as an actor with a wooden face or who cannot act.
Recently during a podcast, John shared his feelings on being outcast by Bollywood. “Koffee with Karan hi kyun uss time pe bahot se film magazine the aur film magazines were really big at that time. Aur film magazine ke editors the. Ek special issue unhone nikala tha ki John Abraham is over aur main cover pe tha. Aur saare producers, distributors, exhibitors, directors, actors, female actors, sabse unhone interview liya. Sab sahamat the more often than not ki ye kind of khatam ho gaya. Woh hi editor aaj mere producer hai” said John.
When asked why the editor at that time wrote such an article he said to John that he just did not want him to succeed. The Dostana actor said, “There was no reason. There are people unki shayad koi wajah nahi hogi unke dil mein unke ghar pe shayad bahot saare problems honge, life mein toxicity jo unke andar hai. Jaise ke aaj trolling bolte hai. You see that comments mein log burai karte hain. Unki koi wajah nahi hoti. Woh baithke sirf burai karenge.”
Instead of paying any attention to such criticism, the actor decided to focus on his work. John said that he is a horse with blinkers who looks only forward irrespective of whosoever is criticising him. John Abraham also made a shocking statement that during his press conference for Vedaa a particular person was made to sit among the journalists just to rile up the actor.
And the person did succeed in getting an angry response from the actor. According to John, he does not like press conferences because the same journalists are asking the same boring, irrelevant questions. The actor said, “Entertainment journalism aab khatam ho chukka hai. Koi intelligent sawal nahi puchta hai. Aur ek bechara banda baitha tha. Uska koi malik hoga. Pucho uska, chabi ghumao toh hame kuch content milega. I reacted. Par woh nahi jita main hara because I am bigger than that.”
