Vikrant Massey, known for his grounded nature and raw, authentic performances, has carved a niche for himself in Bollywood without relying heavily on the glitz and glamour that often defines the industry.
From television to powerful roles in films and OTT, Vikrant has proven that talent can shine even without a flashy spotlight. However, even this self-made actor has wrestled with the unspoken rules of fame.
The PR Dilemma
In a candid conversation with Rhea Chakraborty on her podcast, Vikrant revealed how he once tried to conform to the industry's publicity game. "There are days when I question if I'm doing the right thing by not projecting myself more," he admitted, stating, “PR is important; it does generate traction. But is it really me?”
A Costly Experiment
For nearly six months, Vikrant attempted to fit into the PR mould, attending glamorous parties, wearing rented designer clothes. “It cost Rs 50-60K a day, just to look the part,” he said. His now-wife questioned the rationale, "That’s our monthly expense."
Vikrant soon realised the discomfort of living a borrowed identity. He said, “I was always conscious about spoiling the expensive clothes I had to return. I wasn’t myself.”

On the Work Front
Vikrant will soon be seen in Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, a romantic drama where he stars alongside debutante Shanaya Kapoor. Directed by Santosh Singh and written by Mansi Bagla, the film explores love between two visually impaired individuals. It releases on July 11.
