Bollywood's Khiladi star Akshay Kumar has been in the headlines for a couple of weeks. Be it for the recently released Skyforce, upcoming Bhoot Bangla, Welcome To The Jungle, Housefull 5 or the recently announced Hera Pheri 3, Akki is currently the hot topic. A couple of days ago, during the promotions of Skyforce, Akki opened up about being replaced in Bhool Bhulaiyaa by Kartik Aaryan. Well, not just Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Akki was replaced in the Welcome sequel by John Abraham. Do you know how Akki reacted when he got replaced?
How Akki Reacted After Learning John was Replacing Him?
Recently, an old clip has been doing rounds on social media that shows John Abraham talking about how Akshay Kumar reacted when he got to know that his Garam Masala co-star is replacing him Welcome sequel, Welcome Back.

In the viral video, John says, "Pehele maine Akshay ko phone kiya, kyun ki...Mein unko pyaar se Guruji bulata hoon.(At first, I called Akshay, because...I call him Guruji out of affection.)"
"He is very sweet aur mein unse kafi kuch salah leta hoon (I take a lot of advice from him). He is always... He is always happy for me, we are like brothers. Hum bhai ki tarah hain and we are very very close and we are like friends. So, he is always very happy for me. He is my senior and I love him a lot."
'I Was Removed...' Akshay on Kartik Aaryan Replacing him in Bhool Bhulaiyaa Franchise
Notably, Akshay Kumar played the lead in 2007's Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The horror-comedy remains one of the most loved movies of Akki. However, despite the success, Kartik Aaryan replaced him in 2022's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and 2024's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Though the Kartik-starrers emerged as blockbusters, there are many who still want to see Akki back in the franchise.
Recently, during the promotions of Skyforce, when Akki was asked about not being a part of BB2 and BB3, he replied with a smile, "Beta mujhe nikal dia tha (I was removed). That's it."

In 2015, John replaced Akki in Welcome Back. It is natural for an actor to feel bad when he/she gets replaced by another in a sequel. However, when John reportedly asked Akki, "Guruji mein ye film kar loon?" the Bade Miyan Chote Miyan actor said, "Haan Sundi, tu ye film kar le, hero lagega."
Welcome To The Jungle
Well, though he was replaced in Welcome Back, Akshay Kumar is returning to the franchise with Welcome To The Jungle, scheduled for theatrical release during 2025 Christmas, on December 27. The movie has an ensemble star cast.
