Bollywood's ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bhansali's Heeramandi became one of the most-talked-about web series. While it had an ensemble cast with some new faces, it marked the return of Manisha Koirala. The announcement of the second season filled excitement among all. While the viewers are eagerly waiting for updates on the series, Manisha recently dropped a major update on Heeramandi 2.
During a recent interview with India Today, the Dil Se actress dropped the thrilling update and called it the 'project of a lifetime'. She also clarified that she is unsure about the timeline as SLB is busy with Love And War, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in the lead.
“I don't know when it will start. Sanjay is currently working on Love & War. I think we will have an idea only after that. But I am very excited about 'Heeramandi 2' announcement. It's a project of a lifetime,” said Manisha.

Further, talking about her career, the 1942: A Love Story actress said that she has become more discerning about the roles she chooses. She also revealed that after overcoming her personal challenges including cancer and entering her 50s, she is currently enjoying her life. She also said that she is no longer eager to accept just any role, repeating her past characters or taking side roles. Instead, she expressed her wish to push her own limits and explore new evolving dimensions in acting.
Notably, SLB teamed up with Netflix India to make the official announcement about the renewal of Heeramndi's second season. The announcement video showed a group of dancers performing on Mumbai's Carter Road, dressed in Anarkalis with Ghungroos tied to their ankles.
For the unversed, Heeramandi Season 1 featured Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Fardeen Khan, Shekhar Suman, Sharmin Segal and Taha Shah in crucial roles.
