Himesh Reshammiya, the famous Bollywood singer and music composer turns a year older today. When young he never intended to be a part of the music industry because his father had struggled very hard but could not earn the success he deserved.

But on his father’s deliberation, Himesh decided to venture into the film industry as a music director and to date has been enjoying a stupendous run.

Himesh holds multiple records

The actor has multiple records to his credit. He re-introduced the unique style of singing in the nasal twang once again in the film industry earlier followed by legendary singers like Saigal and Suraiya.

Incidentally, he received Filmfare Award for the very first song that he composed as a Bollywood music director and that is a feat no one has achieved to date.

The first album by Himesh Reshammiya “Aap Kaa Surroor” to date is the best-selling album ever produced by the Indian music industry. His journey as a music director started with Salman Khan’s Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya released in 1998. His songs like “Aashique Banaya Aapne” and “Jhalak Dikhla Jaa” have gained a cult following over the years.

In his career span of 25 years, Himesh has given voice to more than 700 songs and composed music for 120 movies. Apart from acting, singing, and music composing, he has even written lyrics for many songs.

Himesh Reshammiya is the most popular go-to-judge for all the music reality show makers. He has been a regular part of Sony’s Indian Idol and Zee’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. His comments like “Jai Mata Di, Lets Rock” and “Historic” are very popular among Indian television viewers. His personal life came under scanner a few years ago when he divorced his wife of more than 20 years to marry his long-time girlfriend and television actress Sonia Kapoor.
