Farhan Akhtar’s classic movie ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ is more than just a Bollywood movie. It’s a cultural phenomenon that has left an indelible mark on the Indian film industry and the hearts of its audiences. The film that redefined the meaning of friendship, love, and relationship, literally transformed cinematic storytelling.
An important part of the film was shot in the famous Chapora Fort in Goa where the leads of the movie Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Akshay Khanna discuss the values of life. The film, which has gained cult status over the years, is among the main reasons behind the transformation of Goa into a tourist and holiday destination, especially for the youth.
Meanwhile, Farhan Akhtar, the director of the movie, once again visited the iconic spot and relived the ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ days. The ‘Rock On’ star, who is now in Goa, visited the Chapora Fort after 23 years where the memorable scene of the film was shot.
Taking to his Instagram handle, he remembered the good old days and wrote, “First time back at Chapora Fort since we filmed Akash, Sid, and Sameer talking about life. That was 23 years ago. A lot has changed but the warm, sea-salt infused Goan air remains the same. Some places are just magical. ♥️”
Fans are getting nostalgic after seeing Farhan Akhtar’s pic and remembered the good old days of the 90s.
“No words! Such a special moment being there with you and thank you for making Dil Chahta Hai 🫡” commented a fan.
Another fan wrote, “At the age of 24 ! Writing a story which has stayed in everyones heart for ever ❤️ legend 🙌 @faroutakhtar 🤩”
“I was 12 when Dil Chahta Hai came out and had made a mental note to go visit Goa the moment I could as an adult. I absolutely loved how each frame was filmed in the movie, used to rewind and watch it over and over!! And the number of times I've been to Goa is insane!! 😍 It baffles me how much of a powerful creative influence a movie can have on you! 😍,” commented a third fan.
